Steamed Squid
Ingredients:
Fresh squid,Ginger,Scallions,Soy sauce,Hot oil,Chili (optional)
Method:
- Clean the squid thoroughly and cut it into slices without cutting all the way through.
- Arrange the sliced squid on a plate and place ginger strips and the white part of scallions on top.
- Boil water in a steamer, then steam the squid for 3 minutes. Remove the ginger and scallions, and drizzle soy sauce over the squid.
- Sprinkle chopped scallions on top and pour hot oil over it. For a spicy kick, add some sliced chili.
Dry Pot Squid
Ingredients:
Squid,Green and red chili peppers,Onion,Scallion,Potato,Cilantro,Garlic,Spicy bean paste,Oyster sauce,Soy sauce,Cooking wine,Salt,Pepper powder,Chili powder,Cumin powder,Peanut oil
Method:
- Clean and gut the squid, remove the membrane, score it, and cut it into small pieces.
- Marinate the squid with salt, cooking wine, and white pepper, then coat with starch.
- Cut the green and red chilies, onion, potato, and scallion into small pieces, and mince the garlic.
- Fry the potato slices until golden and crispy, then fry the squid until it curls.
- In the same pan, stir-fry the bean paste until the red oil is released, add minced garlic, and then the chilies and onions.
- Return the fried squid and potatoes to the pan, stir-fry with oyster sauce, soy sauce, salt, and a pinch of sugar. Finally, sprinkle pepper powder and cumin powder before serving.
Golden Fried Squid Rings

Squid rings,Breadcrumbs,Salt,Pepper,Cooking wine,Egg,Flour
Method:
- Clean the squid rings and remove the membrane. If buying whole squid, cut them into rings yourself.
- Prepare three bowls: one with beaten eggs, one with flour, and one with breadcrumbs.
- Season the squid rings with salt, pepper, and cooking wine, then dip each ring into the flour, then egg, and finally breadcrumbs.
- Heat oil in a pan to medium-high, and fry the squid rings until golden. Note: Ensure the oil isn’t too hot to avoid burning, and fry only until the outer layer is golden for the perfect crispy texture.
Scallion Oil Squid
Ingredients:

Method:
- Clean the squid by removing the insides and outer membrane, then cut into bite-sized pieces.
- Cut ginger and scallions into thin strips.
- Arrange the squid on a plate, sprinkle with ginger strips, and drizzle with a bit of soy sauce.
- Steam the squid for 5-7 minutes, then drain the excess juice and remove the ginger.
- Drizzle a little more soy sauce over the steamed squid, sprinkle scallion strips, and pour hot oil over it.
Braised Squid Rolls
Ingredients:
Squid,Cucumber,Wood ear mushrooms,Scallions,Salt,Cooking wine,Soy sauce,MSG,Sugar
Method:
- Prepare the squid, cucumber, wood ear mushrooms, scallions, and seasonings.
- Cut the squid into slices with a crosshatch pattern and blanch in boiling water. Cut cucumber into diamond-shaped pieces.
- Mix scallions, salt, cooking wine, soy sauce, MSG, and sugar with a little water used to blanch the squid.
- Heat oil in a pan, add the squid and cucumber, and stir-fry with the seasoning mixture.
- Thicken the remaining sauce in the pan with a slurry and pour it over the squid.
